SHANGHAI, May 1, 2010 (TAP)-The 2010 Universal Expo opened on Saturday in Shanghai, with the participation of 192 countries including Tunisia and starts receiving thousands of visitors among the 70 million visitors expected.
An official ceremony, held on Friday evening, had marked the start of one of the biggest events of the year, in the presence of the Chinese President and 38 heads of state and government.

The 1000-square-metre Tunisian pavilion is distinguished by an attractive concept that showcases the ancient heritage and the major achievements in recent years.
A selection of traditional costumes and art works are carefully arranged in the stand.

Modern Tunisia is also showcased through its advanced technology. A set of Tunisian events are scheduled in the stand at Shanghai Expo 2010, including particularly a tourist week due to be held early June. Tunisia's Day will be held on September 19, while and Investment and Partnership Forum is scheduled for September 20.

The record number of visitors of the Tunisian stand registered on the first day heralds a success of Tunisia's participation, which is co-ordinated by a the Exports Promotion Centre (CEPEX) and benefit of the contribution of different stakeholders
