Tunisian tourism week to be held in Shanghai next June 1-6
TUNIS, May 30,2010 (TAP) - On the sidelines of the Universal Exhibition of Shanghai currently held in China, The Tunisian stand there is holding next June 1-6 a tourism week whose aim is to promote Tunisia's tourist trade on the Chinese market.
Tunisia's delegation, including several professionals and travel agents, will be led by Tourism Minister Slim Tlatli who is expected to inaugurate the new agency of Tunisian tourism in Beijing. During this week are also scheduled several meetings with Chinese tourism officials. Two meetings will actually be held in Beijing and Shanghai between Tunisian professionals and their Chinese counterparts.
The aim, says secretary general of the Tunisian Federation of Travel Agencies Hammadi Cherif, is to look at the opportunities of co-operation with Chinese tour- operators to increase Chinese tourists' flow to Tunisia.
To this end, the establishment of joint trips with European countries can be considered ahead of the improvement of direct air links.

Tunisia takes part in Shanghai Universal Expo


SHANGHAI, May 1, 2010 (TAP)-The 2010 Universal Expo opened on Saturday in Shanghai, with the participation of 192 countries including Tunisia and starts receiving thousands of visitors among the 70 million visitors expected.
An official ceremony, held on Friday evening, had marked the start of one of the biggest events of the year, in the presence of the Chinese President and 38 heads of state and government.

On the occasion marking the 60th celebration of the establishment of the Popular Republic of China , H.E.Mrs LI Beifen, Ambassador of China to Tunisia, offered a reception, on September 29th, 2009 to which have been invited senior political and military Tunisian officials, the heads of diplomatic and consular missions accredited to Unisia and the representatives of the Chinese community.
